Drawing on the principles developed from the Huangdi Neijing, we consider your health history and current symptoms together with areas such as your menstrual cycle, sleep, digestion, energy, temperature, emotional wellbeing and lifestyle, supported by pulse, tongue and relevant channel examination.

Supporting Adjustment

The aim is not to impose the same treatment on every woman at the same stage of life, but to help the body adjust according to its individual needs. Acupuncture may form part of that process, alongside individualised attention to diet, sleep, movement, recovery and other aspects of everyday life.

As your body changes, the plan can change with it. What is appropriate during a menstrual difficulty may not be what is needed when preparing for pregnancy, and what matters during perimenopause may change again after menopause. Your response and your own priorities therefore continue to guide the plan.

Working with the Body

The body itself does the work of healing, adapting and maintaining life; our role is to support the conditions in which it can do that work well. From a Chinese medicine perspective, treatment and lifestyle adjustment are therefore not about forcing the body into a predetermined state, but about helping it move towards better balance, nourishment and regulation.

The guiding idea is harmony rather than control. In the language of classical Chinese thought, human health exists within a continuing relationship with the wider natural world — tian ren he yi (天人合一). Treatment, diet and daily living can therefore be considered together, with the aim of helping you adapt more comfortably to the changing rhythms of your body, your life and your environment.

Detailed areas

Menstrual Health → Fertility & Preconception → Perimenopause & Menopause

Women’s health changes through different stages of life, and treatment begins with understanding the whole person rather than an isolated symptom.
